When I try to play Xvid files with PS2Reality 1.2.8e
The sound (or both sound and video) lag very badly (MP3 format)

is there way to fix this?

If the sound and video are both lagged...then wouldn't they be in sync ! haha...sorry..... if the audio is lagged check out the clip on a PC and check its not lagged on that as well. It might need to be re-endcoded or re-synced.

No not really, the clips work great on my PC.
but on PS2, the audio lag very bad.
The video and audio problem rarely happen (with few clips) and I think I got away with it by recode them.
But it did not work out the same way for files with audio lag. I recode them to divx3 with VitualDub, still lag (but not as bad as Xvid)

I sometimes got the same problem (audio lag) with other codec

a little audio lag does happen in some of my files. the way i fix it (if i dont want to go back and reencode intoa smaller bitrate) is to simply pause the movie, then play it again. That makes the media player restart from the frame you paused and retrieves the audio for that frame. Although this will not fix it for the rest of the movie, it will work most of the time.

    Hi

I have experimented allot with ripping movies and found that the PS2Reality doesn't like a variable bit rate in the MP3 sound track. Try using a fixed bitrate like 128.

I use GordianKnot (found on SourceForge) to do all the ripping. I get great quality and excellent sound everytime.

    Regards

If I rip a movie with gordianknot with a audio bitrate of 160 vbr , the movies is lagging when I load it with ps2reality .

If I rip a movie with smartripper , virtualdub mod and besweet and I use a audio bitrate of 160 vbr , movie works perfectly with ps2reality.

butt the best thing is cbr audio , works always . grtz
