With all these homebrew apps and emulators out there is it possible for someone to make a virus or put a virus on some existing .elf program? I realized the other day that I would read about a program that I would liek to try on my PS2 without ever worrying about if this will permanently screw up my PS2 or not. I know no one in here would do something like that just to mess up someones PS2 but for people are are trying to find those hard to find elfs like the uncompresed hdloader for example and are using kazaa or other file sharing programs to find it is there cause for alarm. And if so would a virus scanner detect it before you put it on your PS2? I've never heard or read anything about viruses on PS2 and I hope I never do. I just wanted to know if it was something to be worried about and if so what files, sites, etc to stay away from or what I should have to better protect myself.
