VCD player????

I heard that there is player for VCD disks to play on PS2
I know that Reality mediaplayer can't play VCD's I mean DAT extension files.

Does anybody knows about that VCD player or it's just empty words flying around.

Yeah you can play VCD on PS2!!

All you need is a few programs to extract the audio and video, and then VirtualDub to compress it into either DivX or Xvid. Now the PS2Reality Media Player can play it!

So in other words, as of right now, you cannot play vcd's on the ps2 and your only answer would be to convert it so the ps2reality player cna play it, watch it in your computer, or get a dvd player that is vcd-compliant.

Conversion compromises already poor video quality.

A VCD program would be super to watch the few VCD discs that I have lying around. I think I remember seeing a program, but can't think of it by name.

didnt you read my post? there is no program. the only way to play it is by converting it.

there was a "program" out there, but it said to do extacly what i told you to do, only it converts the VCD into a ps2-movie format. PSS

So its doing the same thing...also, I am not sure that it actually worked...and there was a time limit for the movie. (pretty short from what i believe)

for less converstion (under 1 min) get ur vcd put it in pc, isobust the mpeg/dat file, if its dat vcdgear will fix that, then QCast (ok its not homebrew, but it works) boot that shizzle up (no bad language there) and watch. enjoy

if you just burn the cd...how will you get the AVI and VCD into the ps2? (unless it supports swapping)

anyway, there has never been any official "scene" news on something like this, so I doubt its true. Maybe just try downloading the BIN file, and using isobuster to open it, get the ELF file out, and use ps2dis to actually see if its real.

i look on suprnova to see if i can get it. i think i actually remember trying to use this - and it not working. theres a few fakes out there.
