USB drive support
Let me start out by saying I know little to none about non-web language programming.
I find it a little hard to believe that no one has written a small utility that enables USB drives (such as ZIP drives and pen drives) on the PS2. Transferring saves back and forth between a memory card and USB drive would be such a great solution to space limits.
I've found the MegaMemory Plus and the X-Mem memory manager. However, these are commercial products, and who wants to spend $10 on a seemingly simple product, or anything for that matter? ;>
Anyway, I would like to use this as a project and incentive for me to learn some computer programming.
I suppose I need some advice, though.
What language would best be used for this?
What would I need to learn about the PS2 in order to write a program like this?
Is there anything else I should research/know while writing such a program?
Of course it'd probably be a LOT faster and better if someone else did this, but it looks like I'm gonna have to do it myself.
Thanks for any advice.

that really would be helpful, i have a Easy Disk USB keychain and it would be great to save my mem saves or something like that, better yet use it as a memcard :D
anyways good luck on your quest to make this if i knew ps2 programing i would help, but i don't so i will only help with my support and say GOOOO DeVante !!

See a tiny driver extension in nport would be sweet enough. I hope somebody puts this on his todo list as I'm not able to code myself ;)

Well, it looks like the Swap Magic team is already working on this, so nevermind.

hopefully they release a free USB utility :D
