is there a mpeg player for ps2??

nope

only Gameshark Media Player does it, but it plays movies via your pc & ethernet adapter/network...
you can also play them if you convert them to for example DVD... (quality loss might be high :S)

i doubt another ps2reality media player type program will arise. it takes alot to program what they have, although i do think that they MIGHT have a hidden feature just like the Puzzle JPG thing except this would be for MPEG video.

i was looking through the ELF file and spotted it so it might be true. if we have any gameshark hackers here, they might be able to look through it and see if they can create a code to unlock it.

update on the whole code thing to unlock MPEG video. i asked Hellion00 (from the gfcc) to try and he did but without luck. he said that there are 8 menu items total.

if you start out the player or the first time, you will realize there are 6 options. Then with the puzzle jpg code, that makes 7. leaving one item out (puzzle jpg is programed as #8 which means the last option hidden is #7.

unfortunately, using a few different codes and me testing, he didnt have any luck in gaining the final option nor any clue as to what that option is.

so i doubt its anything and instead the label MPEG just got into the ELF file from the library they use. but, if one of the ITM hackers from these boards could stop on in and attempt a crack at this, that would be great.
