the facts : I never did ps2 dev... or hardware (..ive put a led in a mem card..)

what im thinking about :

an homebrew IR receiver for DVD playback.... ..this would be great...

I got some kind of dev idea.. like using a TSOP 1736(38...) or similar device... but to interface it to controller port (or directly to mother board ??..) I have no guest...

If anyone of you is planing on something like this I would like to know how I can help out (prototyping....testing... i got lots of tsop1736...)
