First of all, I suggest getting the PS2 Indepedence Exploit, I have a tutorial which you can follow at http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25623 .

I also suggest getting an X-Port, it's not free, you have to purchase an X-Port but this is one of the only ways to transfer to & from your mem card if you have an unmodified console.

If you have a moded console, you can download N-Port (this transfers saves back & forth) from http://wire.napalm-x.com/html/downloads.htm , but you also need to download Naplink from this link. Also remember, Naplink requires a Prolific PL-2301 or PL-2302 cable & you also need to have a Network Adapter in your PS2 for N-Port to work.

So I would suggest that you purchase an X-Port mainly because there isn't too many save game transferring software for PS2.

If your asking that sort of question i recommend you getting the X-Port, its much easier. You need to back a few levels and learn about running app on your PS2 to do it the other way.
