Have unpacked snes_emu.elf, (3mb in size), hex edited it by changing all of the "cdfs:" to "pfs0:" even tried "hdd0:" but still it seeks for the cd for the roms. Any suggestions anyone?

Just had a thought, should i have put just "pfs:" ? I will give it a go later when the wife go out.
it's not that easy and it's been gone over multiple times. To put this in plain english so that everyone understands. There just is too much changes to make in order to get it running from the hard drive, practically impossible without the source.
is there or going to be a program that could make a virtual disk on the hard drive for programs like this?
i really doubt that. HDL showed the true dark side of ps2dev. I really think nobody else will ever tread that fine line.
btw did you load your hdd drivers before executing your hacked snes station elf?
doesn't matter, it still wont work.
Snes-Station is programmed to look for roms only on CD. You can run Snes-Station from the HDD but you won't be able to run the roms. The author of Snes-Station did mention (I believe late last yr) that he was looking at adding support for loading roms from HDD.
To get Snes-Station to load roms from the HDD, you will need to modify the source code but the source code is unreleased.
But the source for PGEN is released and it should be a simple recompile for the author of SNES-Station to add this feature.
Even if he did want to reuse code from PGEN (which many programmers don't want to do) there is a lot more to it than just "a simple recompile"
HDD support for SNES-Station will be there soon enough. There are a lot of other things that need fixing as well before a release, and SNES-Station is not the authors only goal in life, so you just have to be patient.
Drakonite:
Is that a definite confirmation that the SNES-station project still lives ?
After so long time without updates I suspected otherwise.
And I'd love to be wrong about that...
Best regards: dlanor
Me too!
