Now a little bit off to the sidetrack...
To skin the DMS MC Explorer, here's how to do that with Photoshop.
Create an image of 512x480 in size (frame template attached below) and either do it in 256 colors or convert it to 256 colors when done. Save the color table (xxx.act) and the image in raw-format (xxx.raw).
Next use the crappy (done with old DOS-compiler, so use only 8+3 filenames!) tool in the attachment as "act2iifp xxx.act xxx.pal" and while in the dos-prompt do also "copy /B xxx.pal+xxx.raw xxx.iif" to get the final image (should be 246800 in size).
Then you just replace the one in explorer.elf, located at the offset 0x0000B930.
Propably other painting tools can be used also if you can get them to output the raw palette data (RGBRGBRGBRGB... 768 bytes) and raw image (245760 bytes).
And no, I'm not going to create better tools for this. It's easy enough.
