PSP to PS2

I heard that the PSP is nearly the same systems as the PS2, so i wonder if it's possible to play a PSP game on PS2. Of course i suppose you don't have a psp, don't tell me to buy a cable to plug the psp into the ps2 console.
I know PS2 could not support emulating a PSP so i wonder if ther is some way to patch a psp game in order to be recognized as a PS2.
I you think this is stupid, keep the idea for next April's fool and make a news with it.

dont know much about psp but if the psp umd disc contains .elf files maybe there is a way of converting a game to ps2 format

obviously the graphics engin is totally different tant that of a ps2. the software would have to be ported to the PS2. not as simple as doing a 1:1 copy or applying a patch. it would take a programmer hours and a source code would be required. I doubt EA will hand out source code to their games so good luck.

The PS2 and the PSP both have MIPS based main cores of around the same speed, the same amount of ram, and libraries for both are written by sony... Once you get beyond that they are very different hardware.

Okay so you think without the source code it's impossible? Even comparing for example Outrun 2006 PSP version structure to the PS2 one ?

with the source code you may be able to partial port and partial re-write. but your asking for a task and a half. it would be easier in most cases for a complete re-write.

It would be great to get maybe an Irc client onto PS2 or easier thigns like .............


a little package of mini arcade games like geotron and stuff, because a little 4mb package would be awsome.
