PS2MENU -K v..21b help

I've been able to install ps2menu to my hdd through hdloader and run it from there, however lately, out of nowhere I have been getting an error while trying to run from a cd I burned with ps2menu and the version I have on my hdd. When I try to run it, it lists all the irx's it's loading. When it gets to cdvd.irx, i hear a rhythmic hdd clicking (like the hdd is being read from, not a bad sign) but it just continues, this rhythm. It won't continue from there and go to the gui. I've deleted, reinstalled and changed the name of the ps2menu file. I've even made it my default boot.elf but the same thing keeps happening. Is there anything I can check to fix this? I have a v7 with dms3, and I am able to ftp to my mem card. Thanks.

Great, now I can't connect to the hdd using hdl_dump. Looks like the program freezes while trying to connect, and the ps2 hdd keeps flashing, like it's being accessed, but nothing happens... sigh...

Dammit. I thought this too, but all other games boot perfectly. It's just ps2menu.

nope i had the same problem just made another cd and used that it just wont launch cdvd.irx no matter what its not the hdd

Also, the cd I made of Execftp, won't boot. I get DRE's even tho the ps2 can still read the ps2menu cd, and not get passed the cdvd.irx part. What's going on...?

I reinstalled all progs, dms explorer, hdloader and execftp. Execftp works, but ps2mnu continues to not work.

Edit: ARGHHHH I just got the 2.4b version of ps2mnu, made it my boot.elf and the same thing. It gets stuck at cdvd.irx

PS2MENU 2.4b is an old version. You should download PS2MENU 2.6 from http://ps2dev.org/kb.x?T=1009 & install this to your PS2 & check if the new PS2MENU causes any lockups at cdvd.irx.

OK... Using, v. 2.6 it got past cdvd.irx. Now it gets stuck at ps2netfs.irx. Same rhythmic sound from the hdd, like I described before ^^

Can you load and play games from the HDD or just the PS2Menu couldnt load? Cuz the couple days before my HDD (80G Maxtor Diamond 9) dieds I have randam loading problems and clicking sounds too, then the drive died completely three days afterward.

ps. Just order the Seagate 160GB which carried 5 yrs warrenty unlike the Maxtor only has ONE year warrenty.
