I've searched around and I can't seem to find a guide or tutorial for using PS2menu to put two .elf files on the same DVD. The readme that comes with the package says this topic is "beyond the scope of this document."

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

...just take your two ELF files and use your favorite dvd burning program and burn both onto a DVDR. (dont forget any other files it needs. such as IRX files)

Then in PS2Menu, press R1 and switch the device to cdfs, and it should show the ELF files. Highlight the one you want to load and press X.

Now I just started using ps2menu for the first time yesterday, and some ELF files do not work, they will just freeze. I am not sure why.

Ah. I assume this is if PS2menu is already installed on the memory card? What if I want to incorporate PS2menu onto the DVD?

    Thanks.

then you make a SYSTEM.CNF file pointing to the ps2menu.elf. just take a look at anotehr game's system.cnf or another homebrew app's. open it up in a text editor and change the filename to point to your ps2menu.elf

all other elfs placed on the dvd will not load by themselves. once in ps2menu, press R1 to browse your cd (cdfs) and hit X for which ELF you want to run. (and dont do ps2menu again..haha)

the only thing it needs now is a button-holding-code to get out of the elf and back to ps2menu w/o restarting the console.

Well, I believe that the reason why some ELF files don't load is that some ELF files are programmed to be run from HOST which means that they must be run from a loader such as Naplink, Ps2link, Pukklink, et al. ELF files which are made to run from host will only run from loader programs which means that to run these ELF files, you have to run Naplink, Ps2link, et al from PS2MENU.

I tested some Homebrew software using PS2MENU & my HDD. I listed which programs & if the programs run & I have my list at http://cgi.gamefaqs.com/boards/genme...672377&page=17

yes but i think on the ps2menu changes list, they said that they fixed a call to the HOST, so that now ELFs using the HOST command would work...bc i thought what u were saying too.

i too have tested quite alot of programs, however did not document.

    According to the source:
    Code:
// This will try to terminate an ELF program we have called and
// try to reload the PS2Menu ELF, if the reset button is pressed
I just found that out, but I can't try it right now. Anyone got it to work? It looks like it always looks for PS2MENU.ELF on the root of pfs0: and it says later:
    Code:
// Doesn't work most times because, at the moment, we have limited
// control over what a loaded ELF has done to the system.
So at a guess it's not that useful at the moment. Plus at the very least you have to get up and wander over to the PS2.
