PS2 Vice. Anyone using it?

Does anyone have any experience with this program?

I burned a cd of the 1.14 version the other day and it boots to the system selection screen, but when i try to pick a system (any) it freezes. Any ideas why?

Also, will ps2vice read files that are compressed (zipped) ?
