Great tutorial, thanks for the hard work Monkey.
Is there a way to get the exploit to work with a chipped PS2 without using the knife/swap trick?
I have done everything upto the swap trick bit but dont like the idea of forcing the tray open.
Many thanks

you dont have to do the swap trick if your machine has been chipped, just burn the image to cdr and boot the cdr.
thanks for the reply.
I have a PAL machine and couldnt get the created exploit CD to boot, it would always go to the PS2 memory card browser screen.
I have now managed to get the CD to at least be recognised as a PlayStation cd because the Playstation (1) logo now comes up, the only way I could do this was by changing the vmode setting in the SYSTEM.CNF from NTSC to PAL.
Is there anything more that requires changing to get this to work on a PAL PS2?
Any help is appreciated

The exploit monkey has done is for NTSC machines, it will try to copy to the BADADTA-SYSTEM directory which pal machines dont have. PAL machines have BEDATA-SYSTEM directory. are you trying to get HDloader to run from the memory card? pm me I and I will try to send you the relevent PAL exploit.
Ah, that explains why I only get so far....
thanks mate, PM sent ;-)
regards
Andy.
have sent the email to you.
thanks Mate, gunna give it a try now![]()
