PS2 memory card emulator?
PS2 memory card emulator? –
Is there some way I can make a partition on the HDD, or a folder in mass:/, and run some sort of program that will make it act as mc1:/, from which point I could just start whatever game it is I feel like playing? I know it's been done with the PSP over WiFi and USB, just wondering if it can be done with the PS2 as well.
It is possible, the same way hdloader places cdvd driver in memory. The problem is very simple... Noone up to this time has created alternate MC driver (not the official sony). So first such driver should be created and then it can be used to write another one emulating mc on hdd or usb (and incorporate it into the game, or place it in memory some way)... But it's not likely to happen in the nearest future.
What would be neat, is if there was a file on the mc, that would just redirect it to the hdd. but thats just a thing i thought of a while back. I heard there is a usb one already... i may be wrong, as i cant even find it.

That would be nice. I'd think there's probably someway to modify the game image to change mc0: to USB or HDD. But I'd be happy just to have a partition on the PS2 memory card for PS1 saves that would be recognized by PS1 games - can't seem to find my old PS1 memory cards...
This is actually being worked on by one of the programmers on the O2 mod team. It has not been released to the public yet. They also already have a cd/dvd drive emulator. Unfortunately all that cool stuff only works if you have the O2 chip, which only works on PAL PS2s for the time being.
