PS2 Media Center Help USB
PS2 Media Center Help USB –
01-09-2013,05:02 PM
Hello all,
I recently found in my basement an old Ps2, Probably one of the first ones (Fat, SCPH in the 30000s). Basically its the one I had as a kid. I remember having it modded with one of the first ever mods (the open-close disk drive one). Machine boots up, and works with Memory cards and controllers in both slots, the only thing that does NOT work is the disk drive (kind of important). So I can't play games and don't know how to fix it (or if its worth it). So I figured I'd use it as a media center for an older TV. I have a fairly large flash drive (16 gb) which I'd like to use to play movies on through the USB ports in the front (yes, I know they're USB 1s and no, I don't have access to a hard drive. I'm out of the country so I don't have easy access to hardware).
I was wondering if there was a way to boot FBMC from USB and, more importantly, if there's any sort of home theatre software for PS2 (like XBMC). I don't like SMS, it looks horrible and I'm big on it looking good (I wanna show it off lol).
Anything I can do with it? It's pretty much an expensive paper weight otherwise.
Thanks
Sheik

Straight to the Point:
- FMCB boot only via MC.
- Try Argon XMB instead SMS.

Ok, I love Argon
Problem with booting from a memory card is that I need a disk to install it (SwapMagic etc) and my disk drive is busted. Can I install it any other way that doesn't involve CDs?

You should ask some friend with modchipped or FMCB enabled PS2 to install FMCB into your MC from his/her PS2 console via FMCB installer...
