I started out using Eclipse 3.0 but it gave me more problems then I could deal with. Now I just use the command line, if you already have some basic knowledge of the command prompt i'd say your best bet is to just stick with that.

i prefer ultra edit, but when i tried eclipse it was simple, just set your path (in windows) and it then work, this does only a problem it can conflict with other gcc if you have any
