hi guys im new here and i just wonder if any of you know if i can play snes station or pgen on my chipped ps2?
i've heard that you can play snes station and pgen with swap magic but i have never heard with the modded ps2.. so my question: is it possible to play snes station and pgen with chipped ps2? ( it's a modbo )

yeah you can play ..
snes station hdd version : you can play from hdd via uLaunchELF
snes station usb version : you can play from usb via uLaunchELF
pgen :i think only support hdd ..

you mean chipped console ? it has nothing to do with chip as far as you have a way to run homebrew or backups

This is going to go in circles as you don't quite grasp the concept of DEV modes in the chip's firmware.
What chip do you have? don't know? the only way to find out is to open up the system and visually inspect it and compare it to mod chips pictured on the net.
Once you have determined what chip you have, then you must figure out which features it has. Particularly if it has dev modes or not.
DEV modes help you boot homebrew software without aide from disc based booting. Which means you would boot a program from the memory card. (you would use uLaunchELF as your BOOT.ELF in this case)
if your chip has no dev modes, then I suggest you install Free MC Boot. You can burn the installer to disc and install it providing it has no negative effects of allowing the installer to run.
Once you determine if you have a boot method, we can direct you a bit better. Also, please be descriptive. Vague information brings like information in return.
