The version of PGEN I have I assume is the latest version but when I play roms the music is a bit weird like its fuzzy or it cant keep up (or something like that, havnt used it in awhile).

Was a new version of PGEN ever released that fixed this or will I have to buy the Action Replay and use their emulator?

If I did buy the action replay one is it possible to extract the emulator elf file or something and run it from the memory card or HD?

    Thanks

the action replay version doesnt have any improved sound

for some games its better to just disable the sound in the options depending on how distorted it is

When I played PGEN the sound was kinda distorted or something. If Datel got the PGEN code surely they would have fixed the sound issue if they were gonna put it in a commercial product??

And for me part of playing classic games is hearing the great music they had, there'd be no point in playing with sound turned off.

EDIT: So if Datel didnt fix the problem is there any Megadrive/Genesis emu that does work? I also read that in a previous version of PGEN the sound does work but its pre-swap magic compaitble. I'll have to have a look for that unless anyone has it.

Activating the Multi TV thing or something like that (can't remember the name of the option exactly) fixes the sound problem. At least it did for me.

in the one Im using there is

it plays the midi file from the menu the whole time when you disable the sound

and I am using the one that came with ARMAX Evo

the sound emulation is simply not 100% accurate

Thanks for the confirmation. God you'd think they would re-code the sound on the damn thing before they release it as a commercial em!!

Pgen is the only Sega Genesis emulator for PS2, there is no other Genesis emu for PS2.

Pgen is open-source so you can correct the problems if you know who to program.

Did you try my solution? It happened the same to me, and doing this it worked perfectly...

Hmm I will try that, just havnt had time to do much else (a new born baby and MGS3 take up alot of time lol!).

On a related PGEN note can I just confirm that it is possible to boot the PGEN ELF from the HD using Key Launcher (etc) or do I HAVE to run the PGEN on CD and can only load roms from the HD??

Thanks for the tip SlipKorn the sound distortion really bugged me, but I'll try your fix!
