I have been trying to boot PGEN with a GS2v2 disk, because I don't have a mod chip, but it just freezes when I put the PGEN CD in. Can it be done or is there no way without a mod chip?

you're swapping right? you gotta remember to do that

but i do the same and it works fine for me. make sure you burned the CD correctly...mode2 and all..along with all the required files.

What version PS2 do you have? I have a v7 PS2 and I was told I couldn't do it with a v7 PS2, and to their credit, I never did.
