Well it seems that some are working with usbtest but not Ps2OS for example...
I just wanted to be sure...
Lexar JumpDrive Sport 256mb work fine with launchElf 3.4b It was formated with a linux system in Fat32. But with a USB format tool witch Im trying to find the name you can format it on windows and it should work, both with ARmax and launch elf.
Ill try to find the name in 5 min
edit :
voila ! : USBoot I got 1.65 but maybe there is a newer version. Did not try it but may work for lots of not working USb pendrive.
have fun!
Well I tried it thanks but still no success with my crappy noname pendrive...
USBTEST says ok but doesnt list anything and Ps2os as Launchelf both freeze...
Dazzle usb1 card reader with 32mb compact flash works fine. Also fuji s7000 digital camera with same 32mb and 256mb compact flash works fine.
iPod Shuffle 1 gig works with LaunchELF 3.4b2 (could not get it to work with v3.3)
- USBD.IRX from Burnout3 in mc0:/BADATA-SYSTEM
- works in top and bottom USB slot
- can be inserted before or after PS2 boot
- NTSC V7 console
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has thoughts on this. I have a cheapo pen drive that does not work with launchElf (I have a theory on that BTW), but works on GT4.
I know that GT4 is encrypted, but is it possible to use the USB library from GT4 on the homebrew apps?
In addition, let me explain my theory and see if anyone can confirm/deny it. I have an external USB enclosure that I have a 5gig HD connected to. When formatted with FAT32, launchelf can access it just fine. Since then, I've tried two USB Pen drives. One is the Lexmark 1Gig, the other is just a cheapo 64mb drive that identifies itself as WD.
When the external USB HD is connected to XP, it identifies itself as a regular HD. When the USB Pen drives are attached, they are identified as Removable Drives.
Has anyone seen this?
Thanks
I never summarized my theory did I?
My theory is, is there a link between how XP sees a USB drive and whether it will be compatible with PS2?
Finally got myself a pendrive!
Drive: Sandisk Cruzer Mini 1GB
Test App: LaunchElf 3.4b2
USBD.IRX from Burnout3
550K HDL.ELF for test file
Working: Yes
Both read and write tests were successful. The only bug was that when I tested the write capability by deleting the file from the pen drive and then copying it back from the MC with LaunchElf, the date stamp on the file in WinXP showed a date/time 36 hours AHEAD of the actual time.
Other than that little issue, it works great!
Edit: If anyone is having a problem, you can always try reformatting the device. The first thing I did with mine after getting it was to reformat it to FAT32. Out of the box, it was formatted to FAT. Don't know if it would make a difference but give it a try.

Launchelf 342b can read all psp memory stick contents in usb mode.![]()
Have not try writing yet. What is good file for me to write? Can i put saved files via launchelf to mem card?
Update.
by launchelf, Copied a GT4 photoshot from GT4 folder* to Photo folder within memory stick and view directly from psp. so launchelf can seem to work within psp.
*GT4 can saved photomode to psp memory stick as usb mode, but it creates a GT4 folder separately. to view it from psp, need to transfer the jpg from GT4 folder to Photo folder with a PC.
