I try to load it as BOOT.ELF (MR Brown) and as PS2OS.ELF from ps2menu or Launcher.elf
but it tells me:
E: LoadElf returned: 0
E: Creating user thread( ent: 200008 gp:0 st: 0 )
E: Created user thread: 15
koLoadElf returned: 15

a problemw with the compression you applied to it perhaps?
2.3MB in size, I just uncompressed the rar and ftped it to /mc/0/BEDATA-SYSTEM/PS2OS.ELF
hm.. that's funny.. i havn't tried the new version my self.. has anyone else?
(it packs down to 400kb btw)
does this error happen with both LBA versions?
I have not yet tried the 48bit LBA, but then I have to reformat drive?
it's a kl problem with lauching applications. it load them in a memory position that don't permit them to be loaded
AFAIK the disk format is not affected by the software having (or lacking) 48-bit LBA support. It's only if you do have a large disk that the 48-bit LBA support is necessary to allow access to the entire disk. Of course, if some drivers are badly written they may be incompatible with older drives, but I don't think that is the case here. I have used the 48-bit version of PS2OS 0.3 with my 80GB HDD in some simple tests that worked fine.Quote:

I having no luck geting any version of ps2os to work. I have tried .2 and .3 My machine will run keylauncher, Launch.elf, ps2menu-k, and any other elf that i boot from mc. But I cannot get any of the ps2os to work. I have tried it with lanuchers and as boot.elf and even tried the cd boot with swap magic. All of the mc boot attempts lockup at a black screen. The cd version gets to the splash screen and locks up when loading iop.irx is displayed on the bottom of the screen. Can someone help me.
You need the iop.irx from a certain CD...
I had the same problem, but I don't remember which IOP.IRX that works :-(
where does the iop.irx file need to go for a cd boot. do I need to rebuild the cd with cdgen and add it or does it go on the hdd or mc. Also I tried to boot ps2os from memory card. I had ps2os (renamed to boot.elf) iop.irx and the usbd.irx file only on the card it still will not get past the black screen.
