Newer generation MAME emulator?

I'm looking for a MAME emulator that can run a newer generation of MAME games (ie Metal Slug)

Is anyone working on one, or does one exist yet?

Bah - I want it on my PS2. This si PS2 forum and I don't really give a toss about the X-Box (sorry X-Box fans - personal opinion)

If you really want it- port it yourself! The source wasn't released from the original.

If you want Metal Slug, try NeoCDPS2.

Do you know if a normal NeoGeo ROM will work with NeoCD? As all I have are those, not the NEO CD versions.

The answer is no. The NeoGeo & NeoGeo CD are 2 different systems. The NeoGeo CD emulator is only for NeoGeo CD games. To play NeoGeo roms, you need a NeoGeo emulator but, right now, there is no NeoGeo emulator for PS2.
