I specifically just tried hdld_svr_092.elf along with hdl_dumb 0.9.0. The thing is, I've never gotten any version of hdl_dumb to connect to any standalone hdld_svr, whether they match or not. When I launch PS2Net before hdld_svr, I am able to ping the PS2 right up until hdld_svr reads IPCONFIG.DAT and then I get no response from the PC. hdl_dumb 0.9.0 tells me "Unknown error".
Edit: Got it to connect, stupid Windows firewall blocking UDP port 12345. Unblocked it (and for good measure added rules both for UDP 12345 and for hdl_dumb.exe) and it connected fine. Didn't get the 5MB/s that some people have reported but using hdld_svr_092a.elf I did get 2.5-2.6MB/s which is still about 1MB/s faster than before.
