I'm planning to buy a NAS (network attached storaged) for my PS2. I know, I ask this before but i just to make sure if really working. So let me may ask you again guys who tried using NAS (as stand alone connection) which is directly connected to ps2 (using Open PS2 Loader apps) without any PC attached. Is it really working? And if it is working, kindly post here what brand and model of a NAS you used? So that others may know also.

    Thank you..

The 650 BT is a chinese clone - other models share the firmware, an image of the web interface is here - http://www.ring3circus.com/wp-conten...ads/shares.png

Mine is silver, but I could only find a web image of the unit in black - http://img.diytrade.com/cdimg/497644...T_Function.jpg

It does NOT work with version 0.6 but works with the new in-development versions of open ps2 loader thanks to jimmikaelkael. Lack of unicode support was the problem. It might help if you get a different unit with good unicode support (mine has text in the web interface leading you to believe it does, but it doesn't).

It does NOT work with SMS, nor does my Windows Vista which has taken quite a few weekends away from my ps2linux project. So much for having all my media on a NAS with a 3' cross-connection ethernet cable to my version 15 slim. Almost a portable (fits in a laptop bag).

Of course, it works fine with my PS2-Linux distro SMB version. I haven't tried with MyPS2 yet.

EDIT - This is a SATA NAS Enclosure

So even though it works, because it does not work with SMS I can't recommend it. Hopefully more people will chime in with more compatible NAS models on this thread.

It only worked with SMS after I replaced the original firmware with SnakeOS firmware. Now it works fine for SMS (latest version), OPL, PS2-Linux.

My version is no longer for sale, but if you are technically capable of upgrading firmware to SnakeOS, here's one that works with it for < $45 US - ***********: $41.78 Standalone BitTorrent BT Client + USB/NAS/FTP/SAMBA/Printer/UPNP Sharing Network LAN Server

If you are not very technical, and don't feel comfortable changing firmware on your NAS, refer to the SMS/OPL forums and you'll find others with working NAS units.

That's the same model, I just did not see where to buy it so I sent the link to the other model. You do not need a PC after you setup the NAS with your files/games/whatever. You just need your PS/2 and the NAS. If you just want to play games, get a ethernet crossover cable to connect the two without a router. If you want to be on the internet, you will also need a router.
