Memory Card bug

I have FreeMCBoot installed on a 8mb original sony memory card.
It worked for a while without problems but recently it got buged or something> sony browser shows no data on the memory card, and 1.4 mb free space.
But FreeMCBoot loads the menu, and the programs like OPL, SMS, UlaunchELF work (they load with no problem).
The games I launch from OPL get an error when they try to load/save on memory card, so I use the VMC option.
UlaunchELF shows like sony browser> no data, and 1.4mb free space.

What should i do?
I am kinda scared if I format the memory card with FMCB configurator it will remained buged and unusable.
Any suggestions? Anyone else encountered this bug?

My suggestion is to make another FMCB before you have to do it the hard way with another MC if you have one then get MC Annihilator v2.0 (Release: MC Annihilator v2.0)
To reformat MC Full I recommend and should fix your MC if fixable

Try unplugging the card, cleaning the card's golden contacts and re-inserting the card.

If that doesn't solve the problem, be prepared to lose all your data on it as it looks like a potentially severe case of filesystem corruption.

In that case, try to save as much data as possible by using other means to copy whatever that can be saved out.... and then you must format the card to make it usable again.

In the future I recommend using the aforementioned MC Annihilator to regularly back up full images of your card to USB or HDD, and then if something like this happens as long as you can get into uLE, then you can load MCA and restore the full image (normally, copying FMCB off a card wouldn't work, but if you're doing a full image and restoring it back to the same physical card then the MagicGate keys should match up).

Better idea is buying original Memory Card. If this card act like that, you cannot trust her no more and the best place is trash can.

Problem solved. I formated with MC Annihilator, reinstalled FreeMcBoot, everything works now. Thx for help.

If you lived where we live, you wouldn't think it is some "crapy sugestion [sic!]". Here 5 of 4 "original sony memory cards" are cheap fakes (or were? I'm not sure whether you could buy one at all nowadays).

There are plenty of really good imitations of original Memory Card, which are selling even in normal shops. I don't know where you are from and if you even know where Poland is, but in my country and many others in middle and eastern Europe, these cards are a plague. Some of them are almost perfect copy, some of them are repacked to original case, some of them are original but used and repacked as new one etc. etc. etc.

One more thing: I have always reading carefully every post. I give you this "crappy suggestion" because this will probably happen again.
Maybe when you loose your data, this will teach you some politeness...

Just sharing.
I discovered that Sony Brazil through its online shop SonyStyle sells (of course originals) PS2 8 MB Memory Cards...!
Last month I successfully bought two of them (14 USD each one).
I believe that it could worth a try to call Sony in your country to check about MC availability on its own store or on official resellers.

It makes me smile that a genuine sony shop modded my first playstation. I had my playstation 2 modded somewhere else, but they were still continuing to mod and even sell backup games in ps2 era. Since 3 or 4 years, they are going all legal though, i guess sony is getting better at controlling its sellers.

I am saving my two original dualshock 2, one original dualshock controllers and 2 original ps2 memory cards for each day they are getting harder to get. Wish i had an original psone memory card though, it is nearly impossible to get it now. I have a 3rd party one which sometimes works.
