Grrr, I can't seem to get this to operate. Can I load MCLoader from my memory card using Mr. Brown's exploit?
I have nport and pukklink working, so I can transfer saves back and forth. What I'm trying to do is boot MCloader with the exploit, and have the mediaplayer installed on the memory card, so that way I put in my PS1 trigger CD, MCloader comes up, and from there I can load the media player from the memory card. And once I get the mediaplayer loaded I can connect to my network and stream my various media over my network. This would save me quite a few swaps. (and yes, for whatever reason my streaming works quite well, I've done it before)
What files do I need to include in the exploit? I extract BADATA-SYSTEM.npo, then I put MCloader.elf from Mediaplayer 1.50 and rename MCloader.elf to BOOT.elf with the extracted files from BADATA-SYSTEM.npo, and then reconstruct BADATA-SYSTEM.npo. But when I transfer that over and use my PS1 trigger CD it just boots to a bright red screen. I know I'm reconstructing it right, and that I have TITLE.db made correctly because I've successfully used the PS1 trigger CD with other .elfs. I suspect I am forgetting to include one of the files from Mediaplayer 1.50 in the extracted files direcory of the exploit. But don't know which one/combination of ones. Anything?
edit: Well, now I have the stand alone MCloader 1.30 but I still cannot figure out how to have it load with the exploit.
edit again: Seems I've solved my own problem. Found an answer is the PS2 Reality forums. Now if I can just figure out why I am getting an error on "cannot load TILE.DB" and I'll be set.
