Okay...I'm experienced in burning emulators and apps on the Dreamcast, so you know, I figured it would be close to the same world over in PS2 Land, but...its not.
So that leads me to my question...
I was reading up on emulators and homebrew dev., and I came upon SNES Station, and with my SNES and my PS2 being hooked up right now...I was like "Hmmm...I wonder."
I downloaded all the files off Consolevision, and I went through and got the tutorial that basically said it was a self-boot when you used CDGENPS2. So I printed out the instructions and followed them exactly, and then went around and burnt the BIN file in CDRWIN. However, when I popped it in the PS2...I got the funky red screen telling me that the disc was incompatible. I figured if I used CDGENPS2 that it would work fine.
What am I doing wrong? This would be awesome if it would work correctly?
Well...is there anyway I can boot something without a mod-chip or GS2?
It says though that you need the GS2 boot disc...am I looking at the right one?
dreamcast sceners and their self-boot discs.. sheesh..
the gs2 isnt necessary to swap with, but you still need something similar to boot the disc, along with a swap trick.
you can eliminate the need for the trick, with many mods out there, but you can eliminate the need for a boot disc entirely with some of the more expensive mods.
Hey now, us Dreamcast sceners had fun for like the whole...two years that the Dreamcast was around.
But could I use something like the Code Breaker that only costs say...$19.99 LOL?
DVD Region X is pretty cheap. That'll let you swap with CDRs using the knife trick or a mod chip.
code breaker doesnt stop spinning so it wont be very easy to use..
Buy a modchip you cheap bastard and burn it with Nero instead of using the CDGENPS2 software. Just make sure that you use Mode 2 / XA. You also still need a gameshark to boot it.
