    No, there is a pc-based program that will allow you to watch pss or whatever ps2 movie format there is on your computer without re-encoding it or anything.

    well, i have heard that it can play xvid movies...so maybe its just an added feature or something.

    He's talking about the new mcplayer, a port of X-box's Media Centre. It's very early in development, and safe to say it's pretty far from a public release.

    EDIT: I went over to sourceforge to find it and post the link to it here, but it seems to have disappeared. Perhaps the project has been cancelled?
