I DID IT! MAME ON USB! 102 ROMS

I finally did it! I have MAME running from a USB stick, currently with 102 games (and counting). I use OPL to run an ISO off the thumb drive. The games are unzipped in their own folder within the ROMS folder itself.

Is there a comprehensive list of games that run in PS2MAME? Or a list of non-compatible games? Battle Zone, Asteroids and a few others I just can't get to work.

I'm building a huge collection of games (STELLA, MAME, etc.) for the PS2, all running from my thumb drive! Yay, I'm so happy I managed to iron out the MAME problems. Goodness knows how many tries I gave it! :)

try a different rom set. PS2 MAME is an old version of MAME. current romsets may not work. check for the MAME version they ported it may be in the readme? then look for romsets for that version.

Which version is the most up-to-date?

thats the trick... i think you may need an older version of the roms.... check on the mame main website there may be more info there....

PS2 MAME 0.5 is a port from MAME v0.37B16.

I have a question david, if you don't mind. I've been messing around with MAME also, and I was wondering if you managed to get any of the samples working for games like Donkey Kong, Q-Bert, Galaga and so on. I've tried about everything I can think of, and I still can't get PS2 MAME to recognize them. I'm sure it has to be something in the coversion process, but what? :(

Also, great work on the USB. The portability sure would make testing things a whole lot easier. Kudos!
