Alright, heres the problem, I can't get Reality Media Player to work for the life of me. I tried to simply copying the elf via FTP but when I try to launch it [using keylauncher] it just freezes. The I tried installing the pre-made bin off of hdloader (I don't have a modchip) it gives me a purple screen. Any Ideas?

Oh, and, please no "search the forum noob" answers, don't give me that shit.

Right, if you can't be bothered to search for ps2reality then let me do it for you, other forum members live to serve you after all.

    Clicking "search this forum" and typing "ps2reality" produces 93 results, including this one;

    http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/show...ght=ps2reality

There are several helpful suggestions in this thread that you might want to try, if none of those work correctly then there are several other results to look through. Failing that if you could give some more information on your methodology (Are you FTP'ing to hard disk or memory card, for example) and results (Do you see PS2reality try to boot or do you just get a frozen keylauncher screen?

Have you tried other bootloaders like LaunchELF? It is well known that some apps are very sensitive to the launch app.

As a final observation, you will probably get a better response if you lose the attitude.

Thank you for your response. If you don't realize it, you proved my point. 93 threads (results) is a lot when your already late for work and traffic is heavy. Thanks for helping though!

    No problem!

My point was just that you needed to be more specific and less confrontational. No-one knew you had time constraints, you came across as saying "I can't be bothered to search, just gimme the answer". I guess its easy to be misunderstood when you're not face-to-face though.

    cheers

Happens alll the time - no problem. And, no, if I were to get it to work I'd just transfer my 500 music files to the PS2 hdd via LAN.

And I tried all the elf launchers (according to the 'avaliable homebrews' thread, and a lot of them, including ps2os and ps2 menu are just plain complicated, and some don't even offer HDD support. I'm gonna try them again since I just picked up a mem card double pack (so I'm not limited on space). I'll post my results.

i just wish someone would stand up and add .mp3, mpeg, and .avi support to a launch program

I really think that all we need to do is improve upon launchelf and we will be set in the ps2 scene. Just imagine if launchelf could boot hdl partitions ( play games off hdd) and it could be used as a media player... What else would you need

LaunchELF is certainly my favorite, its small, easy to use, and supports virtually all media types, cd, hdd, mc and usb-mass (when combined with a USBD.IRX, Napalm seems to work for me).

I agree that HDloader-type support would make LaunchELF vitually unbeatable, possibly integrate HDDemolisher instead when that comes to fruition. Since HDDemolisher is intended to be open source, there is no good reason why this hybrid should not come to be. In fact, growing the two projects together right from the start would give HHDemolisher a leg up in basic functionality, but I guess that would depend on the authors agreeing.

I'm closing this thread. There are way to many threads about PS2 Reality Player.

    dick_onion53,

    about you quote right here:

"Oh, and, please no "search the forum noob" answers, don't give me that shit."

Acting like this is a great way to get banned. Moderators can't ban but watch what you say because the admins might ban ya.
