How to put ps2reality player on DVD-R?
How to put ps2reality player on DVD-R? –

Is it possible to put the ps2reality player on a DVD-R along with several AVI files and have the PS2 boot into it?
Yes, I have a chipped PS2 which will boot game DVD backups, and have sucessfully made CD-Rs with cdgenps2 that boot into the ps2reality player and play the AVIs on the disc.
Unfortunately even though cdgenps2 will make large (>700mb) bin/cue files those appear to be in 'CDR' format rather than 'DVDR' format - Nero 6 thinks they are oversized CD images rather than DVD images (which in fact they are...).
So can it be done?
If so how?
Thanks
Mamo.

Here we go...again.....I guess the search button isn't working for you ;-P
I've posted this on another thread on this forum somewhere but you can make a boot dvd-r or dvd-rw with multiple avi on.
How to put PS2Mediaplay on a DVD and it works
Ok...this is what I did...works on a PAL PS2, Messiah.
Open "CD/DVD generator" select new project, then DVD.
Drag & Drop the 3 files (system.cnf, Cdvd.irx and mplayer.elf) into the CD/DVD generator window.
Select the layout tab in CD/DVD generator and set the LBA values for the files as follows.
system.cnf = 1000
cdvd.irx = 1100
mplayer.elf = 1200
example_movie.avi = 3000
If you have more than one movie to add after you've set the above up with your first movie file set to 3000 you can just drag and drop them as normal. CD/DVD Generator will work out the LBA for any more files you add.
From CD/DVD generator menu select 'Export IML file' and save the file e.g. ps2divx.iml
Then use IML2ISO to create a ISO file.
*Caution*
Do not use long file names or long directory structures in where you keep the files as IML2ISO doesn't like them. Stick to standard directory names of 8 characters long or shorter and file names 8.3 (good old dos style).
Writing the DVD in Prassi
--------------------------------
To write the DVD I used 'Prassi Primo 2'. Load it up and from the left window showing the drive letters select your dvd writer so it is the highlight drive.
From the top menu select 'File'. From the drop down under 'file' select 'New Job', 'Global Image or other image'. The right hand screen will now change to the select / recording dialog boxes. In the 'Disc Image File' box click the square button at the far right of the box with the three dots in it '...' (the browse button). Browse for the ISO file you created and select it. Once back in Prassi click the 'GO' button (round, bright red) and wait.....
Enjoy..
You can of course burn with Nero but I've not done it.

wow NX3, i actually never knew about that. what version ps2 do you own?
mamoulian, if his way works, please tell me.
from what i have always understood, the question of whether or not the media player boots on DVDR has to do with your PS2 version.
the way i always suggest is that you boot with a CDR, then swap in your DVDR at the main screen. that always works for all versions.

It works for my quite old PS2, forget the model number and the netadapter blocks the view now. Up to a few friends who have the series sold in the run up to xmas 2002. I posted this on this forum several times and sharereactor forums, its worked for a lot of people.
