How is the performance of SNES emulation and MAME emulation on ps2? I'm wondering if it would be worth the trouble burning them and trying to play on my ps2. Can someone give me a good idea of how they play?

Don't bother with MAME, unless you want to play pacman that is. Street fighter, final fight, etc. games like these run verrrrrrrrrrry slow. The SNES emu, spot on frame rate on any game if you turn sound off, even mario world with sound on slows down when theres a lot of action on screen? Stick to playing emu's on your PC, the new version of ZSNES is brill, and MAME 0.85, is the only mame emu at the moment that is worth having.
I too am intrested in this. I am an xbox modding guru and sick of M$ I decided to dust off my ps2 (which was formally in pieces) and get modding on that. Now im lagging around here trying to see what makes the ps2 tick. The xbox emulates snes perfect and mame pretty good. I will dig deeper into ps2 modding and post my results (if non of the eperts actually beat me to it.) I assume that the 32mb of mem will hamper the ps2 a lot in emulation so I would take peeman's advise stick with a pc or if you have an xbox lying around use that for emu's.![]()
try it out to see for your self
