    hey everyone. just wondering if anyone has encountered "500 Transfer failed" after a LIST command is sent to the PS2? i can't seem to read anything on the ps2 at all.

    Code:
    [15:31:43] LIST -al
    [15:31:43] 500 Unable to open directory.
    [15:31:43] LIST
    [15:31:43] 500 Transfer failed

    !! here is my network setup

    PS2 (192.168.0.10) ===> HUB
    Linux Server (192.168.0.1) ===>HUB
    My PC (192.168.0.199) ===> HUB

    CONFIG.DAT = 192.168.0.10 255.255.255.0 192.168.0.1 MODE2

    Using FlashFXP on my pc, i can't create the data conneciton to list the directorys. I can mount, CD, etc etc, just not list directory.

    At first i thought it was something to do with the GATEWAY in CONFIG.DAT, so i fired up ncftp on my linux box, but STILL can't create the data connection.

    i've also tried various versions of ExecFTPs with the same problem every time!

    i thought it might be the wireing in the wall that was the problem (the ps2 is in the loungeroom, while the computer is in the study), so i moved the ps2 to the PC's room using a seperate cable, but still the same problem!

    Could this be the problem?

    http://www.ps2newz.net/forums/showthread.php?t=27552
    "There is a known bug in ExecFTPs, which makes it 'blind' to MC directories containing exactly 20 or 21 objects. If you increase the number of objects to 22 or decrease them to less than 20 then the directory should again become visible for ExecFTPs. At least that is how it works for the root directory, and I think it works the same way for subfolders too."

    The 20 file bug doesn't cause freezes though, it just prevents the directory from being displayed.

    nah, there's neither 20 or 21 files on the mc or hdd. i'm pretty sure it's a problem with the network side, opening the data connection. it's very frustrating :| is there any other way of transferiing files over to the PS2? i've tried loading PS2link then loading ps2menu from host (the pc) but as ps2menu is famous for, it corrupted the hdd. LOL

    When I was having problems with Execftps, I alos tried a few other ftp programs, but that never helped. I love FlashFXP. Maybe your settings aren't right?

    I have a Tivo and it has a similiar FTP server that requires no authentication. I noticed that it stopped working on my laptop and spend a long time troubleshooting it. It turned out that the problem was caused by Checkpoint VPN-1. Apparently all Checkpoint software screws it up. Could be the case for you.
