HDLoader + ICO –

If this is in the wrong section please move it as you please.
I just started getting into the ps2 scene and am having some issues with some games. I am using Free McBoot 1.8 with HDLoader and a PAL ICO. I am using an ntsc ps2 and an hdtv to view it on. When I try to load up the game, I get a black screen, with sound. I've read online that the game should ask if I would like to play it in ntsc format, but I'm not able to see this menu. Any possible fix?
Another question, is shadow of the colossus really buggy? At often times, the game will hitch and freeze, sometimes the floor's texture would not load and I would be walking on nothing with a freeze soon after. I've tried Burnout 3 as well, and that has worked fine so far.
Thanks for any help.

What type of cable between the PS2 and the HDTV?
It’s my experience that you need S-video or component if you want flawless connection.

Its most likely your rip is bad or you left out some info. I dont have any problems playing mine from HDL and FMCB 1.8
I have played this on several of my TVs with component, S-Video and composite cables.
You might want to change the PS2 configuration settings to Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr if your using Component Cables. If your using the Composite cables you would want to set it to RGB, cause using Composites with a Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr setting would cause a black screen with sound.

I have the PS2 set to use Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr and I am using one of those "multi-console" component cables. It works for the xbox, ps2, and some other console. I'll try it with using my old composite cables and see if that works.

I'd switch to RGB if your gonna use Composite cables....the yellow/red/white cables.

You want to use that setting for Component cables:

That "Multi-Console" set of cables is not a Component cable....unless it has those same color connections and says its Component.
Multi-Console Component cables

Multi-Console Composite Cables w/S-Video

Make sure you have the right cables and settings. I was just guessing that you have Multi-Composite if your getting a black screen and sound while using them with the Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr setting.
