Ok you all know the extra memory card that comes with action replay/gameshark? It can only be used as a normal memory card if you boot with the ar/gs disc then load another game.. it works fine then. Well that means that ar/gs probably loads something that stays in the system's memory in order for it to use the special memory card. If you try to load a psx game from ar/gs it goes back to the ps2 broswer and you can access the second memory card.
My point? It might be possible to copy what these programs do and load extra stuff in the memory, then load a game. Idea - startup the harddrive like the ar/gs memory card, go back to the original browser.. pick a (psx?) game from the harddrive.. play it! And there's much more that could be done with this. All theory here, but if it ever happens that'd be cool.

If you have a DMS3 mod chip then you can enable MM16 mode and this memory card work without a load CD.
It work like a normal memory card.
Has anyone tried the utility floating around here to kill the MC, then reformat it? Think that would work for the gameshark and ar cards?
Hmm, is there any way I can get my ar2 memory card to always load using the memory card exploit to run apps?
First we have to be able to format it to be used as a regular MC. (For those without dms)
