Anyone know of a simple utility to test the controller? Just something to give visual feedback on the analog sticks and buttons (including how hard they're being pressed).

there is a pad sample in ps2sdk that does. If there was actually a good reason I might throw something together and post it somewhere

Well, don't go to any bother on my behalf. I'm hacking a gamepad, and I just wanted something to test functionality a little more accurately and conveniently than just trying it in a game. I thought there might be some utility already out there.

If you have one of those USB to PS2 controller adapters, you could hook it up to the computer and goto joypad properties and test the buttons there.

Actually, I do, but it doesn't show the pressure of the buttons.
