umcdr is not supported anymore
Huh? What happened?
warez monkeys started to jump all over it. It was supported for not very long at all.
well, I use it with PS2menu 2.6 (lets me use CD-RW, yay), and altimit also supports it. All you need is the image patcher. CDgenps2 3.0 has it (cant be used for games, so dont try).
UMCDR was discontinued in April 2004 because Hermes of PS2 Reality made a blantant rip-off of UMCDR. The blantant rip-off of UMCDR is the CDX format which is used in CDGENPS2 3.0.Quote:

Currently, PS2MENU 2.6 (aka 2.26) which is at http://ps2dev.org/kb.x?T=1009 supports loading UMCDR & PGEN 1.25 also supports UMCDR. You can download PGEN 1.25 also from http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24730 .
I believe that Altimit also has support for loading UMCDR discs. Many reports have also mentioned that the Action Replay Max Evo uses UMCDR.
If you have the source code to a PS2 program & if the PS2 program supports LIBCDVD, you can add UMCDR support to it by replacing the CDVD.IRX which comes with LIBCDVD with this one:
The cdvd.zip contains the CDVD.IRX which supports UMCDR, I got this from the Altimit zip file.
The cdvd.png is a screen capture of my hex editor which I opened cdvd.irx (the one from Altimit). In the screen capture, look at the upper right hand corner & you will see 814 Drak's Magic CDDA 814 Drak's Magic CDA which means that this is the CDVD.IRX which has support for UMCDR.
Well actually, I have talked to Drakonite about umcdr, and he has no problems with hermes or ps2reality....The story you got was probably the one <G> posted on the frontpage. Unfortunately, you can't believe everything you hear. :(
Also, cdgen has BOTH cdx, AND umcdr conversions....
I wanted to make UMCDR for PGEN and SNES-STATION in Linux or BSD.
But if it's no longer supported, maybe it's no need?
Well, only PGEN 1.2.5 supports UMCDR, SNES-Station doesn't have support for UMCDR.Quote:

UMCDR may not be supported anymore but that doesn't mean that the program isn't useful anymore.
yeah...if you can get the program to run, you just have to input an iso to it, and it outputs a UMCDR ISO.
