BAM!
No, the other way around, pc webcam on ps2.
sounds like a good idea! i would love to do this..
never going to happen with the official eyetoy software - it needs the specific d-link camera to funcition. for example, you can't run an Intel NIC with Realtek drivers! it's the same with the eyetoy.. also, even if you buy the exact same D-Link camera, you still can't use it since the serial/product strings are different. Unless you can dump the firmware, and somehow change that information.
you can however run the eyetoy camera on your PC. you just need the correct INF file (which points Windows to the correct serial/product code for the eyetoy)
HOWEVER Loin's ps2cam library may be able to support different camera's eventually, but i have no idae on that. it's possible though.

Even though you can find webcams with identical chipsets they won't return the same plug and play information so the official software won't think it's the right device, and because of that you can't do it.
You would have to make a prog. for every single webcam, it would be virtually impossible to make it universal because the the driver issue. And even then it would be extremely difficult to try to get any non-sony camera working.
ok i have the eyetoy working on my computer but the frame rate is slow as hell... what gives... In the ps2 it is really fast ( real time how do i fix this)
Ok in yahoo it was set to pause... that fixed it ( shwitching to broadcast)
Also how do i check my real time framerate
EDIT: ok i was wrong that choppy frame rate is as fast as it gets... its only smoot when your not recording
