ExecFTP doesnt work. I cant handle it
ExecFTP doesnt work. I cant handle it –
First of all I read a lot of Tuts about the networkconnection via FTP.
When I launch EXECFTP (from **ADVANCE) the most important sentence isnt screened : " FTP Server initiated on Port 21 "
I have the most troubles, because of my router and its Firewall.
Its setting tells me that the Gateway IP is : 188.8.131.52
mine is : 184.108.40.206
2nd PC : 220.127.116.11
So till now im quite sure that in the config.dat the PS2 IP is xxx.4
I read about diffrent Firewall modes I have to switch off/on :
Settings I have :
Respond on Ping on Internet Port : enabled
Use Router As DHCP Server : enabled
Use dynamic DNS service : disabled
UPnP : enabled
Can someone say me, weather Im doing(thinking) something wrong?
That is all a bit tricky for me and I think Ill not made it, because I've done already everything I can understand.
Thanks for reading this
ExecFTPs won't launch properly with every method, which is probably the case with HDL/HDA. Try running it from LaunchELF or something else that is known to work. I remember when I first tried execftps I tried to launch it through ps2menu and it would hang before all modules were loaded, which sounds like what's happening to you.
Your IP configurations look fine.
Well, but the ONLY way I can load an ISO file is over the HDD.
But to install PS2Menu I have to go with HA, as well and such apps
always say couldnt read CDVD.irx. So first of all its essential to run a Server.
I'm pinging and trying all the time to find the PS2 and i dont find it.
Put your Network Adapter disk in your PS2 and do the online check then look at your router and see what the PS2 IP address is.
Yeah this idea was brilliant! Thank you
Now Im sure about the correct IP of my PS2. Unfortunately it is the same I already tried, therefore nothing really changed for me
So you've got your PS2 IP address correct, are you sure your using the correct gateway? On your PC goto START then RUN type "CMD" (without quotes") to get DOS up then type "IPCONFIG" (again without quotes, I think that may only work for XP not sure) it should then tell you your PC IP address then your gateway IP address which is the IP of your router. Once you've made sure thats all correct make sure that same information is in the IPCONFIG.DAT (or whatever its called) for ExecFTPS. If its still not working it should indicate on-screen what the problem is.
