Elf that display text or picture? Avaible?

Hi there,

Im not much into programming and such but just a little.
This is first day i browse this forum, since i usually stay in ps2modic forums because im a installer.

Anyways, I would like to make a bootable DVD from a elf that display either a jpg or some text.

Reason I want to do this is because after i modded a console I want to provide the customer with a disc so he can "check that the modchip is properly installed"

I tried with a random elf using a sony tool to make a bootable DVD and had no problems with this.

Now i would like to have a elf that just have some text like "Since this disc booted the modchip works" or a picture i can place there. Thats it.

Is there any open source code like "hello world" i can modify to have this text, or is there any elf that auto load a picture so i can make a bootable dvd with a elf and a jpg and it displays on the screen after boot?

here is an elf which will turn the screen blue for you.

im assuming you wanted PAL output since afaik youu are in europe

What is the text that is displayed? If i know the text i can change it in hexeditor i guess.

I tried after posting this post to install ps2sdk and compile an example that shows me how i put a image into a elf. But to be honest, I dont understand how i make the ELF files from the source code.
I did ./Makefile in unix but got lot of error. I was using bin/bash/ though.

its pretty hard.. alot of the stuff is low(er) level. get started on libito and its tutorials, makes it a bit easier.

you can change the string with a hex editor, or just tell me which string you want and ill make a new version.

Currently its printed to the center of the screen - "Your Playstation 2(tm) Console Has Been Successfully Modded"

and usually you cant do ./Makefile , rather do make

to compile libito, for example, you cd to the directory, and type make build-ito

check the makefile to see which options you can do, usually just "make" works well

The text explains that if u get black/white and not colors u need a special cable and also says u need to use good media.

Found out how to compile own elf now, so i dont need the elf.

I just made a iso that display a picture so i can put up logo and some gfx on screen telling the modchip works. Thanks for all help all, and Hypersonic!
