    how can it ell fi a game is say DVD9 or DVD5

    a dvd9 is dual layered.
    Hence, a dvd5 is 4.7 gigs, a dvd9 is twice as much space.

    um...you should just be able to tell by the size.
    But, since windows explorer doesnt recognize layer 2, you can use Apache and see it it lets you switch between layers.

    well tis because i got a copy of thie burned game called sakura Taisen Atsuki Chishio Ni

    and on Swapmagicfix.com they say to burn it to DVD 5, so im not sure if the game is already in DVD5 format or still DVD9 format
