Does anyone know where abouts the PS2 holds the DVD region info or even better point me towards an OSS project that has already modified the value on the fly. I found references on ps2dev to it "being obvious" and "sample code already being available", but I can't seem to turn anything up.

Likewise, does anyone know what the hell the PS2 does to the RGB output whilst playing DVDs that results in the green-screen effect (especially how the various Region-X a-likes prevent it).
