http://dosbox.sf.net is a very good open source dos emulator for allot of operating systems I was wondering if it would be possible to port it to the PS2 as I love some of my old dos games...

I was thinking about the same thing these days. Since it uses SDL I don't think it would be that hard to port it. But I don't think I have the necessary skills (and time) to such project.

Another good idea I had today was to port GnGeo (Neo Geo emulator for Linux that uses SDL) to the PS2. Would be really nice to play King of Fighters, Metal Slug, etc on my PS2

GnGeo has already been ported to Gp2X, so I don't think the PS2 would have too much trouble to emulate it...

there is a neo geo cd and pocket emulator for the ps2 already.
I got metal slug working on my ps2 with the cd emulator.
Looks like we need a good programmer to do this, its a shame there isn't any/many left for the ps2 it seems the psp is getting allot of attention.

Would LOVE to play doom, wolfenstien 3d, jazz jackrabbit and duke nukem on my ps2.

Neo Geo CD and Neo Geo Pocket aren't the same as Neo Geo.
Obviously, Wolfenstein 3D for PC isn't the same as the SNES port aswell.

007 that does not do any good for this thread...
I've got doom on snes-station, and it is totally unplayable. Shoot a barrel and the game freezes. Try to move and it takes a second to react.

I don't want to look at "ports" of games, I want to play the originals... Many of my favorites wern't release on anything but the pc.

Then you should play them on the PC, because anything else would be a port.
