Okay, I recently upgraded from windows ME to windows XP.
I have X-Port. I attempted to install X-Port but was meant with a error saying something about windows XP not being compadible with MS Dos or something.

Anyone know how to fix it?

I would also love to know what the problem is because sometime this week, I am going to go to Best Buy & purchase the Gateway computer which they are advertising this week. My grandfather wants a computer so I am deciding to to purchase the Gateway 550GR & give him my old 400 MHZ E-Machines computer.

Well, since the new comp's including the one I want to get come with Windows XP, I would love to know what the X-Port problem on Windows XP is so that it can be corrected since I own an X-Port & I use it a lot to transfer homebrew to my mem card.

    Update:

I ordered the Gateway 550GR computer yesterday morning at Besybuy.com & I selected store pickup. Well, I got an email yesterday afternoon that my computer is ready to pick up. I will be picking it up later today from Best Buy in Whitehall, PA. When I get the chance (in the next couple of days), I will see if I get the same problem with X-Port.

I'm using X-Port V2 on XP SP1 without any problem.

Grab the PC client software from codejunkies :
    PAL systems: http://uk.codejunkies.com/downloads/...bInstaller.exe
    NTSC systems: http://uk.codejunkies.com/downloads/...webinstall.exe

If you have an XPort V1 PS2 Disc, you can ask for a free upgrade for XPort II from Datel's customer support, just by telling them that you have a RSOD at startup (I've done it : sent my original V1 CD, and got a newone within 2 weeks)

If you have an Action Replay 2 V2 (not the MAX version), it as a built-in Xport support, and you don't need to get a new disc.

xport/gameshark2, ver 2-2.22 all work as a target for the x-link software, true, and you can download those from www.ps2savetools.com, as well as the "Icon Crippler", which patches out (version 2) the annoying habbit that xport/sharkport software has of replacing the save's icons with it's own stupid icon (crippled).... a must have, if you make your own save icons, like I do, and don't want to do all that for nothing.

I've never used X-port/sharkport (have had both, same thing) on anything BUT win XP, and I'm wondering what problem you think it has? I've never had any issues.... well little ones, but they're easily resolved, and caused by me using the PL2301 w/Naplink, some xp systems confuse that with the xlink, but otherwise, mine works fine on xp, always has... running the v2 software.

there is no MSDOS in windows xp, it's based on their new "visual basic", and has no MSDOS installed, hell, xp is'nt compatable with old MSDOS, mostly, for that matter.

I've been using these for years on windwos xp, and have no issues, since that last one is the icon crippler... the icon replacing thing was my biggest issue with it.
