I was actually looking into some gamecube homebrew, and the gc actually has a n64 that consists of convertin a n64 into a gc game.

well actually it was developed by Nintendo for the Zelda collectors edition, it was then hacked so that the zelda 64 rom would be replaced by the rom of your choice.

This makes me believe that 64 emulation on the ps2 is surely possible.

A psx emulator on PSP is a fact almost every psp owner knows. But that emulator was made by sony.

I really doubt psx emulation would be any better than the n64 on psp if the emulator was a homebrew one.

Heck, even some snes games don't run perfectly.

Nintendo designed the N64 and Nintendo designed the GC so Of course, Emulation there is possible. This fact has no bearing on the probability of success of a N64 emulation on the PS2 and I don't see how it would.

I have the N64 emulator for the xbox and it runs like ass, so, being that the xbox is a little more powerful that the PS2, and given the fact that the N64 is a complicated machine to emulate, even for a nice PC, it isn't gonna happen.

Furthermore, If an N64 emulator was ever released for the PS2, it would only be a crappy, unplayable, proof of concept.

I am not expecting miracles, perfection, or even someone to make a playable emulator.

Most peoples first response is that it cant be done with very little backup to support it. Usually its "This system is more powerful and can not do it" Or "It would have been done already" This is being very closed minded.

Just becuase Nintendo developed both systems doesnt say anything except that the people who developed the emulator had superior knowledge and resources of the systems than the average Homebrew developer.

I have the Zelda64 emulator, and very few games work. And the ones that are playable pretty much all have some little bug here or there...(and 64MB roms can't be used either.)
(But to be fair, they play at 100% speed, but a few of them don't save.)

I would expect a GBA emulator for PS2 far before a N64 emulator...and I'm not holding my breath for that either...

First of all, you can't convert an N64 game to the PS2 unless you have the source code.

Without the source code, you can't port an N64 game to the PS2.
