I've had this idea kicking around for a while, but I have absolutely 0 experience with PS2 development... please don't flame me if I make any blatantly obvious mistakes...

Anyway, I was playing around with some mini-linux distrobutions, and one of them includes a compact opensource web browser written in C called Dillo.

It led me to thinking ...

Would it be possible to make changes to the code and then compile it with the PS2DEV libraries so you could browse the internet on your PS2?

From what I understand, the PS2 has 2 processors. Which parts of the code you would send to the EE, and which parts to the IOP?

Also, I'm assuming that you would have to add code to support a USB keyboard/mouse. Actually, didn't the PS2 RMP have a virtual mouse that is controlled through the controller? That'd be another option instead of supporting a USB kb/mouse. Would either of these options be feasible?

Would anyone actually care to use something like this? and could someone with knowledge of programming the IOP and EE answer some of those questions so I'm not completely clueless?

    Thanks,

From my lay understanding of all the PS2Dev stuff available right now, the pieces are there to make something like this work.

Concerning dillo, I had exactly the same idea--and the same problem--very poor programming skills. None on hardware other than x86 stuff.
