'cheats' file for codebreaker
'cheats' file for codebreaker –

does anyone know where to find an updated 'cheats' file?
if u don't know what i'm talking about, if you use codebreaker and add codes and save it, it saves it to your memory card in a file called 'cheats' (no extension).
has anyone ever saved a bunch of codes and then uploaded their cheats files to the internet?
or maybe does anyone know how to edit it? i opened it in notepad and all i saw was garbage. maybe a hexeditor but i've never used one before

wait, will this work with codebreaker 9.3? the one that's supposed to work with hd loader or w.e?
the readme talks about v8 or v7. no talk of v9.3 or anything...

Okaay, after looking around I now have a better understanding of what I myself am trying to do.
Codebreaker can update itself with the use of cbc files. You update it by putting the files on a usb storage device and put it into the ps2.
HOWEVER codebreaker on the slim ps2 cannot access any usb devices. And so I cannot update my codebreaker.
What I was originally asking was not about the cbc files, but the actual file that codebreaker saves to. On the memory card. This file is called 'cheats' in a folder called PCB. Like so : mc0:/PCB/cheats
And what I was asking was if there is any where I can download an updated 'cheats' file, or be able to edit it.
tl;dr Since cb on my ps2 can't read usb effectively making all cbc files useless for me, I wanna know if I can edit the cheats that cb saves onto the mc, or find an updated version of it
I wonder if I should make a new thread.

i guess thatīs the best solution for slims to update the codelist by day1 option via internet.
no need of copying cheats file to mc.
let me google for you (first hit should be fine !!!)

that wasn't a very good google link btw, and my own googling didn't produce very good results but I think i read earlier that codebreaker no longer supports updating from the internet.
plus I was hoping for a way to copy paste codes I find, or someone who has lots of codes for a particluar game and I could use his file (kh2:fm)
anyways I had a genious idea...
I USE A PS2 EMULATOR!! I emulate codebreakers and by using a virtual usb thing (?) i get cbc files. and then it updates, and then i save it, and then i copy the cheats file off the memory card and onto my real usb and use ule to put onto my real memery card.
but, can u emulate usb storage devices for the ps2 emulator? and then access said files and the memory card?

okay so the pcsx2 emulator has absolutely no usb support. there isn't another one that does have support is there?
am i shit out of luck?
can someone at least tell me that I'm screwed if they can't help me? I'd like a proper response

The README file is the text file containing all the instructions
it's a command line program so you'll need to open it with cmd.exe or command.exe from your system32 folder alternatively you can run a batch file with the required commands.
Use uLE to copy / paste the codebreaker save off your memory card.
