Can the PS2 get a virus ?
Can the PS2 get a virus ? –

Hey guys,
I dumped some ps2 saves via ULE/thumb drive to my computer.
It's been there for years, the computer has a couple viruses which have also been there for years.
My question:
Can my thumb drive and/or PS2 get a virus if the ps2 saves are infected ?

No.
Your thumb drive does not have a CPU, so a virus can't infect it. It can however have a virus stored on it. That is nothing to worry about though. Your PS2 has a different CPU than your PC, so it can't do anything. Game saves are read by the PS2, not executed, so that's another reason why you should not worry.
That said, it's still technically possible for somebody to write a virus that could jump from PC to a console, but it is unlikely to the extreme.

Reason: Clarification.

indeed, not only that but they would gain nothing from doing so unless they really hated you and wanted to ruin your save games.
