Booting homebrew with AR2?
Booting homebrew with AR2? –
For two days i've been trying to boot the independence exploit of a cd-r on my ps2 (PAL, SCPH-39004), and it is driving me MAD! i can't get anything to work! (except for booting an old PS1 game on a cd-r...)
I've been using action replay v2, and also tried with a demo-disk swap (this was on a dvd though). No matter what i do, nothing seems to work... I even tried setting the LBA of the "system.cnf" file on the exploit cd-r to 12231, which didn't help anything either...
Does anyone know if it's possible to boot the exploit without any chip/mod, owning only a set of action replay v2 discs?
Any help is very welcome!
And sorry if this question has been asked before, but i did several searches and couldn't find anything...
Without a mod-chip eh? Well, the thing about the exploit is you need a way of getting the exploit installed before you can do anything. The one-time-install-process needs a way of booting the cd (ie modchip), which is then installed on the memory card.
Even after its installed, you still need a way of swapping disks (unless you wanna run PS2 reality Media Player with UMCDR) so find a slidecard or cogswap.
You can't boot anything soley off an AR2/gameshark >>> I'm unsure about the new UMCDR and CDX formats though you *might* be able to
No, I think what he means is that when he does the swap with his AR2 with his exploit disk it wont load (RSOD).
I'm having the exact same problem with this on a v7 SCPH-39001 NTSC using the AR2 v2.3 to do my swap. I can swap and play IMBNES using the AR2 bonus PS1 disc without a problem but when I try to do the swap AR2 PS2 disc its a no go.
I've done it before with no problems on my old v7 PS2 but this PS2 its a no go .
This is driving me crazy, I've edited the lable of my system.cnf file to 12231, cleaned the lazer, etc.
I could also really use some help or advice. I've attatced my disk Image for anyone who would like to test it or just take a look.
